6. How many cards do you get in Texas Hold'em?
Two private cards. Five shared cards are then dealt face up, and you make your best five-card hand from all seven.
7. What do fold, call and raise mean?
Fold means giving up the hand. Call means matching the current bet. Raise means increasing the bet, which the other players must match to stay in.
8. Is poker the same as rummy?

10. Is poker legal in India?
Since 1 May 2026, India’s Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans online poker played for money. Social poker, where nothing of real value is staked or won, is not banned. Poker on Dura Gaming is played with virtual Dura only.

Half of all five-card hands are just a high card. Even one pair beats most of what you’ll be dealt.
How a Hand of TEXAS HOLD'EM Works
Each player gets two private cards. A round of betting follows: you can fold, call or raise. Then three shared cards are dealt face up (the flop), with another betting round, followed by a fourth card (the turn) and a fifth (the river), each with its own round of betting. If more than one player is left at the end, everyone shows their cards, and the best five-card hand from each player’s seven cards wins. A player can also win earlier if everyone else folds, which is why bluffing matters.

A good poker face isn’t about looking blank. It’s about being consistent. Players give away information through timing (a long pause before a call), bet sizes that change with hand strength, and habits like always raising with good cards.
